Gok Wan is Such An Inspiration To Women Everywhere
I was flicking channels the other night and managed to catch Gok Wan in his highly entertaining show ‘How To Look Good Naked’. This programme is great because he knocks the current trend of having super skinny women on the show. Instead he has what I would class as ‘normal’ women, all of whom are just an average build. However, when these women look in the mirror they don’t see who they really are, and mostly think they look larger than they actually are. Gok is fab because he always sees the real person in everybody.
What is great is that Gok never makes women loose weight to try to achieve a better look. Instead what he does is simple – he boosts their confidence to make them see that they are already beautiful just as they are.
The episode I watched the other night had a size 14 lady featuring on it. This is nothing wrong with having a size 14 figure, but she was feeling frumpy and not attractive. She also hated the fact that she was nearly 6ft tall. Seeing Gok cast his magic wand over her was so inspiring as he doesn’t actually do a great deal. He showed her what sort of clothes she could wear, and put her in some killer heels, but apart from that everything she achieved was because she was starting to have confidence in her body and actually beginning to like who she was and what she saw.
One vital tip I have picked up from Gok’s show is that it is important to not only wear the right clothes that suit your size, but imperative to accessorise your clothing.
A lot of the time it is actually the accessories that make the outfit. Bearing this in mind, I have recently built up my collection of silver chains and silver pendants. I think that silver compliments any item of clothing and now I have a collection of silver sets ready for any occasion.
So bearing all this in mind, I think I am getting there, but I could still do with a little help from Gok to improve my confidence!
